Color - Color is the basis for all great design work. We work with all of the elements of the room that are permanent and then build from there. We will consider all of the 1,058 possibilities in the color chart. This is where so many homeowners get lost. Choosing the correct color is not an easy task so don't feel foolish. It takes a trained eye to get the color scheme correct. Proper color design will include the adjoining areas so that a comfortable harmony is created. Don't be afraid of color. Let's just choose the right ones!

Faux Finishing - Patricia Stay, owner of Room Makeovers, has many years of experience in custom painting and offers over 15 different faux finishing techniques. Layers of glazes over base paints, plasters, textures, metals, are used to make your walls have personality and interest. We can create soft, subtle, elegant finishes, or we can create bold, dramatic, exciting areas. Each wall becomes a work of art.

Before and After - Check out our Before and After photos. These homes are already beautiful, but when you add some color, maybe some faux finishing, a little tweak here and there... Wow!!!! This could be your home too!

Project Breakdown - This is where the mechanics of a well-planned project is outlined. We need to seriously plan out what we want to do, how we are going to do it, what it is going to cost, how long the project will take, and what it is going to look like when we are done. Patricia has found that people really want to know all of these elements before the project starts. It is put in writing and all parties sign the Proposal Agreement before the project begins. Most homeowners don't want to be surprised... they want to be satisfied.

Problem Solving - This is very individual. Each home has problems that need to either be corrected, or dealt with in the design. If you have a problem and you don't deal with it, your eye will immediately go to it when you enter the room. When you don't address it, you won't ever be satisfied. Let's deal with it... Room Makeovers may be able to solve your problem quickly and easily.

Makeover For Profit - If you are considering selling your present home, you are going to want to get as much money as you can at the time of sale, right? Let's get together and do a walk through. Room Makeovers knows what buyers are looking for, what will sell your home fast, and what to do to get your house to that point. So much of what I do is trying to make people happy. Sometimes I get frustrated with people who genuinely want help, but put up barriers. Whether it is a control problem ("No one is going to tell me what to do in my own house!") or whether it is a fear of it costing too much money, or just a lack of vision, I don't know. When I walk into a home, I immediately see what few others see: the home's true potential to be outstanding! Sometimes it takes so little effort, but the homeowner is too close to the subject and cannot stand back and see what I see. I love the challenge of new homes with white walls. I can see it completed with color and texture, carefully chosen accessories. I see the homeowners as a centerpiece on a beautifully created backdrop. In older homes, I want to rip out the "other people" who were there, and put the new people in. Keeping history in tack, there is a way to erase the old and put in the new and it doesn't have to be difficult or limiting. Whatever your situation, you need to tell the house how you want to live in it... the house does not tell you what to do!!!
